On April 17, Hockey Night in Canada broadcast will offer online play-by-play in seven of the most commonly spoken languages among #Canada’s immigrant populations, in addition to its conventional broadcasts in English and Punjabi.

“I want to give credit to the brave move by #MolsonCoors, the sponsor of #HockeyNightInCanada, to reach out to a multicultural audience by broadcasting the game in their native tongues, including Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Vietnamese, Tagalog, German and Arabic,” said Loretta Lam, a thought leader in diversity and inclusion and multicultural marketing.

 

“Coupled with strategic multicultural communications, this broadcast could be a starting point to create a more inclusive environment for the diverse fans from the tropical countries to gradually embrace hockey and beer as part of their sport experience in Canada,” added Lam.
