Markham Food Bank has been one of Focus Communications’ preferred charities for more than 10 years. Despite the challenges during 2020 and 2021, Focus has augmented its cash donation amount to Markham Food Bank to help meet the increased needs from the community.

“With the availability of vaccines, we hope the pandemic will come to an end and the economy could bounce back soon,” said Loretta Lam, Chief Strategist of award-winning multicultural marketing consultant firm Focus Communications in Markham. “We are not a large company and our revenues have been impacted by the pandemic. However, we would like to lead by example and urge other companies to lend their helping hands at such difficult #TimeOfTheCentury.

The Markham Food Bank has been Assisting the Community Since 1984.

The Markham Food Bank is committed to creating a welcoming environment of fairness and equality for everyone that walks through our doors.

When visiting the Markham Food Bank, you will receive seven to 10 days worth of nutritious food. This will include canned/packaged food as well as fresh foods like milk, fresh fruits and vegetables or meat when available. We try to give some choice in the food provided based on Canada’s Food Guide.

Beyond food, we also try to provide clients with necessary personal hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. If you have a child under one year, you will be offered formula and diapers as well.

We do our best to provide the same items to each client every visit, but items are subject to availability.
